On this site and in my writing, I try to be objective. Tonight, LeBron James was just awesome. Nobody in the world could’ve beaten him or the Miami Heat tonight. If the game was still a contest in the fourth quarter, he would’ve scored 70. As a Celtics fan, I’d rather see them lose like this than lose like they did in Game 2.
If LeBron plays like this on Saturday, the Heat will advance. Hell, if he can keep this up for five more games, he will win his elusive ring. Realistically, he can’t play like this two games in a row. I am fully aware of the gambler’s fallacy. The fact he played like this tonight has no effect on how he will play on Saturday, just like how a roulette wheel doesn’t know that it landed on black the past three spins. I also know that even for a player of his ability, he can’t do this again.
As great as LeBron was, the Celtics were terrible on the offensive end. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were awful. The only Celtic who wasn’t was Rajon Rondo. If LeBron comes back to Earth, while the Celtics’ key players are better, Game 7 should be close like Games 1-5 were.
