Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past 12 or so hours, you’ve heard the news that Donald Driver won “Dancing with the Stars” last night, beating out actor William Levy and classical singer Katherine Jenkins. Since this is a sports blog and I’ve played this fiddle once before, I intend to keep this short and sweet; I just wanted to acknowledge my joy in seeing Driver and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, hoist their Mirror Ball trophies – the first for the professional dancer – last night. The Green Bay Packers wide receiver, with a slew of Cheeseheads bound and determined to get him that trophy, did not disappoint. His freestyle dance, which earned Quickie his first perfect score of the competition, was, by far, the best of the three performed Monday night. While it may not be the Vince Lombardi Trophy, Packer Nation is beaming with pride for one of its favorite athletes.
